Section: Vol.II: the Noble Families

Princes Yourievsky (of the Cities of Zuerich and St. Petersburg)

Artist: Michael Medvedev, GHA[R]

This coat-of-arms, being a combination of the Romanov family arms and the honourable augmentation (the eagle), was granted by Alexander II to his second spouse, HSH Princess Yourievsky, born Princess Dolgoruky, and to their posterity. Note the pavilion granted instead of an usual princely robe. The modern graphic version was commissioned by the present head of the family, HSH Prince George Yourievsky.
See below the original painting of 1881 by A. Faddeyev, the painter to the Armorial Dept.
