Artist: M. Shelkovenko, GHA[R]

The arms designed by M. Medvedev, D. Ivanov and M. Shelkovenko (artist), all GHA[R], are based on Imperial grants for two neighbour-cities of Troitsosavsk (approved by Nicolas I) and Kyakhta (by Alexander II). In 1931 the cities were united together under the name of the last one.

Adopted by the city on October 14, 2006; registered by the Heraldry council on July 6, 2007 (No. 3423).
